Fiber for concrete

Concrete is a substance that is used in construction in many structures, including buildings, roads and bridges. It is a combination of water, cement, sand, and gravel. But in certain cases, concrete can also crack or give way under force. That’s where fiber comes in handy!

Fiber reinforcement involves adding small fibers, such as plastic or steel, to the concrete mix. These mineral fibers operate as small soldiers to hold the concrete together and make it stronger. They prevent cracks from spreading and protect the concrete from crumbling.

Understanding the Different Options for Concrete Strength

Plastic fibers are excellent for imparting flexibility and crack-resistance to concrete. Steel Pp fibers, in contrast, are super strong and can give concrete the ability to bear heavy loads. Glass sepiolite fibers are lightweight and can help concrete last longer.

Fiber-reinforced concrete has many benefits. It’s stronger and more durable than traditional concrete, so is more likely to last longer and endure more wear and tear. It is also more flexible, which may help limit the cracking that leads to its dissemination.
